My cousin MERRY makes beautiful Family Trees!
My cousin MERRY has recently started a new venture. We have been researching our shared BEAGARY-LANDERS ancestry for about six years. I told her about my blog and said I would be happy to make an announcment about her Family Trees. Here is what she sent for me to include in my blog!

I have a beautiful, original 5 generation Family Tree Chart that I will create either by an uploaded GEDCOM or completed chart. Each leaf entry contains a name with birth and death dates and locations. The Tree is 13" x 10" and fits into a standard 20" x 16" frame and mat.
I also offer to work together with the client, to search available online databases, in an effort to fill as many leaves as possible.
It's really a very special gift for a wedding, anniversary, shower, or birthday, a wonderful family or reunion project, or a beautiful display of dedicated research.

Some valuable FREE resources for Genealogy Research.
Tip for the day. Learn how to write up a great post. Always remember the 5 W's. Who-What-Where-When & Why!
Ways to see how people write up good posts can be found in the archives of Rootsweb boards & mailing lists and on Genforum. Study them and get to work posting your own. I began to do this right away as soon as I discovered these great FREE boards and lists and am have become a prolific poster. I cannot tell you how many mysteries have been solved using these resources. (if you GOOGLE search my name you will get an idea of how busy I have been for the last 7 years posting)

Check your local library to see if they have HERITAGE QUEST. If you live in a small town see if the state library has access. HERITAGE quest will allow you to search the 1850-1920 census and untold books online for FREE with a library card number.
You really can do a lot of genealogy research for free. I did this when I first began and finally reached the point where I had to join Ancestry.com which is a fantastic database.
Check the local LDS Family History Center in your area. I have never used the LDS much myself. I live in a rural area. These Family History Centers have great resources as a rule and you can order microfilm through them if they don't have what you are seeking. They are very helpful to new researchers.
Hope these tips will help you on your way. I think genealogy research is a very intuitive pursuit. I think outside the box and this has been helpful too.

MARY ERNESTINE, ETHEL GERTRUDE & ROBERT PATTERSON ABERCROMBIE, ch. of FRANCIS PATTERSON ABERCROMBIE.
Photo is a picture of the children of FRANCIS "FRANK" PATTERSON ABERCROMBIE. The youngest child, ELIZABETH PACKER ABERCROMBIE is missing from picture.L-R MARY ERNESTINE, ETHEL GERTRUDE and ROBERT PATTERSON ABERCROMBIE. They were the children of FRANCIS "FRANK" PATTERSON ABERCROMBIE and ELEANOR PACKER. My 3-great grandmother ERNESTINE (ABERCROMBIE) PEARSON FIELD was FRANK PATTERSON ABERCROMBIE's paternal aunt.
The children were the grandchildren of BRIG. GEN. JOHN JOSEPH ABERCROMBIE, JR. and MARY ENGLE PATTERSON who was the daughter of GEN. ROBERT PATTERSON of Philadelphia.
One of my quests is to find out what became of ETHEL GERTRUDE ABERCROMBIE, b. 1880, Bucks County, PA., and m. 1) ROBERT GRATZ FELL (had a son ROBERT GRATZ FELL with him) m. 2) JOHN AIKMAN STEWART, 111 (had a daughter ANNE THOMAS STEWART with him).
At the time of her father's death in Philadelphia in 1939, she was listed as MRS. ABERCROMBIE STEWART of Hollywood, CA.

The relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services this morning at 8:30 o'clock, from 1723 North Tenth street. High mass at ST. MALACHY's Church.
Interment private.
The discovery of ERNESTINE ABERCROMBIE's death record in 1890 Philadelphia, solves mystery!
This is not a new discovery ~ but certainly was one of my most important.
ERNESTINE's son CHARLES J. FIELD was my 2-great grandfather who died (served for NJ) in Civil War. I knew little about this part of my family history other than his mother was known as KATIE FIELD and was a beloved family member, the mother of my grandfather RAYMOND FIELD RUSSELL of Worcester.
I began to research this family by finding them in the 1850 census. Luckily around this time I contacted the MORGAN of Worcester knowing that there was a connection to our RUSSELL family, but I wasn't sure how. I was sent a genealogy that included PETER SLIM and VINCENT BEAGARY that included CHARLES J. FIELD and ELIZABETH PAUL BEAGARY, that gave his father's name as JOHN FIELD and mother as ERNESTINE A.
After exhausting my census research. I decided to send for CHARLES J. FIELD's Civil War Pension file to see if his birth record and mother's maiden name would be listed. It was not. So, I sent for his brother THEODORE FRANCIS FIELD's Civil War Pension File (both brothers records were listed in Ancestry.com) THEODORE FRANCIS FIELD's Civil War Pension File was over 65 pages long and had his Philadelphia Catholic Baptismal record listing his mother as ERNESTINA ABERCROMBIE. I had a maiden name at last for her!
From that information I rushed to post to the ABERCROMBIE board on Rootsweb (or Genforum) and within a day or two heard back from a long time ABERCROMBIE researcher BRENDA ABERCROMBIE LEDET. She was convinced she knew who my ERNESTINE was from her location and given name which was a special name in the family of JOHN JOSEPH ABERCROMBIE and SARAH DENORMANDIE. JJA's mother's name was ERNESTINE, and I have found this name was carried down in. I found it very intriguing as this was a very interesting family to be connected with, but I needed more proof before I could attach my ERNESTINE to it.

My next find was ERNESTINE's first marriage found in GOOGLE BOOKS.

The next step was to contact the National Genealogy Society and did they have great news for me. They had 18-19 pages of genealogy research done on the descendants of ANDRE DENORMANDIE including information on ERNESTINE and her mother SARAH DENORMANDIE. This really was an amazing genealogy adventure which took me back to the 1400s France, but more about that later.
